MEET THE RIDER
This board was shaped for a shortboarder based in Shizuoka
it is his sixth custom with T-REEF.
With years of riding behind him, a new direction began to emerge:
“I want something easier to ride but without losing speed.”
As his body and needs evolve,
this board is designed to support a longer, more sustainable surfing journey.
His previous boards (4th and 5th) were set up as quads.
This time, we intentionally shifted to a tri-fin configuration.
A small change in setup but one that opens up an entirely new feel on the wave.

THE DESIGN STORY
A design that created "ease" without sacrificing performance
The goal wasn’t simply to make the board easier to ride.
It was to create performance with less effort: more flow, more continuity.
Built on the foundation of a high-performance shortboard,
it’s been tuned for smoother flow and more sustained speed through each ride.
A size balance that enhances paddling without losing control
Set at 6’2” x 21” x 2 3/4”,
this design maintains maneuverability while adding support and paddle power.
The result is easier wave entry and a more forgiving takeoff.
An outline that preserves the DNA of a shortboard
A pointed nose paired with a balanced round tail
creates a familiar shortboard feel in a slightly more forgiving form.
It allows for smooth acceleration and intuitive control from takeoff.
Rocker and rails tuned for speed and flow
Designed to perform best in chest-to head-high and above conditions.
A clean, continuous rocker line combined with down rails
channels water efficiently, maximizing speed and drive.
A fin setup that unlocks a new dimension of surfing
Switching from quad to tri-fin changes the entire character of the board.
It introduces a more controlled, drive-oriented feel
bringing a different rhythm and depth to each turn.
FINAL NOTE
“Easier” doesn’t mean compromise but "evolution".
It is not about reducing performance,
but removing unnecessary effort.
What remains is a smoother, more natural ride
one that lets you surf longer, and with more freedom.
